Richard B. Johnston, M.D .

Dr. Johnston earned his undergraduate degree and medical degrees from Vanderbilt University. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery through Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Johnston then completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy in San Diego, California and assisted in the care of the San Diego Chargers football team.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he holds memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Georgia Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Johnston is a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedics at Emory University Medical School. He also worked as an orthopaedic/sports specialist, treating athletes in the Olympic Village during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia and has been an Associate Team Physician for the Atlanta Falcons football team. He is also the team physician for Chattahoochee High School. In 2001, Dr. Johnston was voted by Atlanta Magazine, as one of the “Top Doctors in Atlanta for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine”, and in 2002 was named one of “America’s Top Surgeons”.
